Bigod 1101 Rouge

Made from blend of grapes juices, fortified with spirit to 16% alcohol. The grapes are grown in East Anglia vineyards and made in our winery in Monk Soham.

Brimming with notes of cherries and raspberries, with a touch of sweetness to balance the zingy red fruits. Not as sweet as the Bigod 1101 Blanc

Designed to be served chilled or over ice, to drink before a meal, with a desert, a platter of cheeses and charcuterie or as a social drink with a difference. Store in the fridge once the bottle has been opened.

Named after the Bigod family of Framlingham castle in the 11th century. The name Bigod was recongnised as name for a Norman or an excessively regligious person. A name given by the French to the Normans, because, at every other word they would swear 'By God', from which they were termed Bigodi.
